The 2nd Annual Steep Dreams Ski Mountaineering Festival will be held at Panorama Mountain Resort March 3-4, 2018.
Steep Dreams is a two-day celebration of skiing and ski mountaineering at Panorama Mountain Resort, near Invermere, British Columbia. Day One starts with a bang: a morning vertical race, followed by an afternoon of race clinics and course tours to familiarize racers with the terrain they will encounter the next day.
The second day of the festival includes two individual races: a Canadian Ski Mountaineering national circuit race; with elite, junior, and “skiduro” (timed descents only) categories, as well as a recreational race which is perfect for less experienced skiers or those new to the sport.

The Elite course winds its way through Panorama’s best terrain, featuring skiduro timing as well. The Recreational course is a good test of fitness but avoids difficult skiing, sticking to green and blue runs for the descents. A short version of the Elite course will be available for Junior and Skiduro competitors – the same runs, just not as many of them for a shorter day out.
Festival dates are March 3-4, 2018. For more information and to register, log on to the Steep Dreams website.
