We received a letter to the editor from Claire who recognized the man in the image that ran in our story about Lund, British Columbia.
Recently we published a story about a community at the end of the road on the Sunshine Coast called “The Hippie Utopia That Was Lund, British Columbia.” A reader recognized the man in the feature image taking a bath in a small tub.
Claire Q writes:
The photo of the guy in the washtub is my husband Dan Mooney. I snapped the photo while he was having his weekly bath on the back porch around 1980. He was, and still is, one of the hardest working men on the coast. That skinny dude in the tub has a nickname: the “human bulldozer.” He is now 76 and is still working. He just moved over 60 yards of dirt with a wheelbarrow!
