From June 21 to 23, Revelstoke played host to the Husqvarna Triple B dirtbike rally and campout. Our correspondent Lexi Pechout reports back about the all-female event.
Is there any better way to start off a weekend than running around the grass in bare feet, drinking coffee and practicing yoga? Especially when the sun is shining and all you can hear is the birds chirping and of course, the occasional two-stroke? That’s how the 2019 Husqvarna Triple B Rally launched this past weekend in Revelstoke, British Columbia.
After that wonderfully mellow start we kicked things in gear, literally. We gathered our gear and our bikes and then the 70 of us attendees split into riding groups based on ability level. Many of the Revy riders volunteered to guide us ladies on some of the coolest trails I have ever ridden!
If you didn’t know Revelstoke is the world’s only temperate inland rainforest; the trails weave between thick ferns and trees so wide, you can’t wrap your arms around them. In some sections the forest is so dense, and so dark you almost need a headlight! The trails are so well maintained they look like hiking paths, and therefore perfect for all riding levels. On the flip side, we were able to change it up and hit the motocross and enduro-cross tracks, which are also a great addition to this riding area.
While we all had a blast riding all day, my belly still hurts from laughing so hard at the after party. We gathered in the hotel for dinner and the caesar bar to celebrate the awards to riders that showed their spirit, drove the furthest, and crashed the hardest. By the end everyone had at least one special prize as there were so many sponsors that donated. We spent the rest of our time at the Glacier house jumping from cabin to cabin socializing with tons of new ladies and having a great time. I definitely recommend adding this event to your calendar next year.
