Yes indeedy do…it’s that time of year again. The ol’ KMC rotary phone has been ringing off the hook for the past few weeks with folks from far and wide wanting to know when and where they can pick up tickets for everybody’s favourite pre-season multi-media meltdown — The Backyard Booty.
The Booty goes Dec. 10. That’s a Friday, at Nelson’s Capitol Theatre, seating capacity 420. (Honest). So get them quick, in advance at the theatre.
The evening starts with drinks at 7 p.m. And as has been the case in years past the main goal of the evening is not to celebrate mountain culture, nor showcase some of the best known and unknown names in mountain media, but to down all of the beers the Capitol has on tap. Just like we did in ’09.
If you’re still interested by the time the house lights go down, the show starts at 8. There’ll be some great contributions this year — not too long, and not too heavy, just rowdy and remarkable. The roster includes works from celluloid wizards the Rocky Mountain Sherpas, Kootenay kayaking nut bar Carl Jacks, Victoria-based photographer and now-film maker Anthony Bonello and the one and only Dave Heath.
Tix are $20 now, and $20 at the door.
See ya there.
